trusting God in every step

Being my own self

What’s one thing you wish you had started doing earlier in life?

One thing I wish I had kept doing earlier in life is having my own mind.

English was always my favorite and best subject in school. I was 13 when I wrote my first poem. 1983 was the year. One poem was composed seems like everyday? I was so happy to share with my mom every time she walked through the door from work. She was both in awe and proud of me.

By the time I got to highschool the writings became fewer and fewer. I was introduced to a life I wasn’t prepared for. The innocence was gone of a young girl that grew up in a house of light and love. I was now smoking marijuana, drinking alcohol and hanging out with the street crowd. That would go on for at least the next 10 years of my life. I was stuck in a rut that I didn’t know how to get out of? I followed the crowd and did what my friends did.

Now grown up as an adult. I consider myself a leader. My focus is different than before as a young girl though. I procrastinate a lot. I have a bunch of jumbled up stories inside my mind. (Unorganized) It’s hard to start and finish a project. I’d just like to get it all out and then on to the next. Completion” is the word for me. I have a lot of unfinished stories on paper. My mind is all over the place…always an opened task
